1. Who is your mentor and where do they work?
If I can't find a more specialized option, I will contacting Alison Baker, professor of Medieval studies at Cal Poly. Alternatively, Josh Long at Azusa Pacific.

2. What five questions will ask them about their background?

-What do you know about Tolkien and his constructed languages?-How do medieval studies and Tolkien intersect.-Tell me more about the link between Gondor and the Byzantine empire. -*What made you interested in Tolkien?-Explain the conntions between Rohirric culture and Norse sagas.

Post 4: Interview Preparation

1: Doctor Sarah Higley.  Doctor Higley is a professor of Medieval Literature at the University of Rochester.  She is a well-known for her constructed language, Teonaht, as well as her writings on Hildegard of Bingen, one of the very first recognized language inventors.

2:  Do you feel the study of constructed languages can be applied to real-life situations?

In the same vain, the next the place we're going is Mars.  I see English, the default language of science and "international" communication, as a stumbling block for the necessary cross-cultural communication that a 6 month journey in a high-tech sardine-can calls for.  Mandarin, Japanese and Russian present equally poor choices.  Could a constructed language help?

Briefly describe Tolkien's influence on the con-langing community.
