Blog 8: Research and Working EQ

1.  What is your working EQ?
What is most significant about Tolkien's process of language creation? (What is Tolkien's language creation process?)

2.  What is a possible answer to your working EQ? Please write the answer in thesis format.  Examples:
Tolkien understood the connection between myth and language, and simultaneously created both his languages and the world that they were spoken in.

3.  What is the most important source you have used that has helped you come up with an answer to your working EQ?
The Letters of Tolkien, along an internet source of which I have lost in the deeps of the web.

4.  Who is your mentor, or where are you volunteering, and how does what you are doing relate to your working EQ?
Professor Alison Baker, who teaches Medieval Studies, which is more or less what Tolkien Taught.

  1. 2. So, to paraphrase, Tolkien created his languages simultaneously with the creation of his fictional worlds. (We discussed that you would be able to talk about why this is significant as you present..figure about 10-15 minutes)
    3. It would be nice to find that source if it continues to be important to you.
